As an audience, we have to stop and ask: why is it that we judge female characters so harshly compared to male characters?

Underneath is a system so deeply entrenched within our society that we tend not to notice it. This system revolves around a series of biases, more specifically the biases that exist within the police and justice system centering around ideas of “white supremacy.”
It has been over a week since the world has celebrated International Women’s Day. Yet, the hype of female empowerment has not left our digital presence. From blogs covering stories of influential women to media posts outlining the struggles that limit women and girls globally, this year – and arguably this decade – has given immense visibility to the world of women.
