Why Nisa Homes?

Immigrant, refugee, and Muslim women experience unique, intersectional vulnerabilities when faced with trauma and homelessness.

Community connection and a safe environment are essential for healing and self-sufficiency for these women and children.

Nisa Homes provides women and children not only with a safe place to live after experiencing trauma, but also with community resources and the ability to explore and practice their cultural identity, which is especially vital to immigrant, refugee, and Muslim women. By providing necessities, spiritual empowerment, counselling and emotional support, and case management including legal assistance and sustainability planning, women are given the tools needed to heal and be empowered.
