Women Empowering Women
The 95th Academy Awards are coming up soon and for movie lovers like myself this is a very exciting time, but every year I am led to question the list of nominees. Time and time again, the Academy fails to celebrate diversity.
Acne. It’s the most common skin condition in Canada and the United States by large margins. Yet, there is still a large stigma associated with acne, with much of this stigma being attributable to poor media representation.
The idea of love overcoming all runs rampant in our society, providing us with a hope that at the end of the day, we’ll find our “true love” who will accept us despite our differences. While this may be true for some people, it would be remiss to completely ignore the majority of society to who this idea does not apply to for a multitude of reasons.
