Women Empowering Women
Violence in our society, especially gender-based violence, is not simply the fault of those who committed the crime. The blame lies, not only with the perpetrators but with those who continue to defend, excuse and enable them.
In this post, I want to highlight some of my favourite films directed by women that I consider underrated. It’s important that we continue to support work created by women to ensure that it continues to be made.
It cannot be neglected that earning said income is often much easier for some than it is for others. This ability to acquire a job or get a certain level of income can be based on: religion, sexuality or, most notably, gender.
The 95th Academy Awards are coming up soon and for movie lovers like myself this is a very exciting time, but every year I am led to question the list of nominees. Time and time again, the Academy fails to celebrate diversity.
